Monsoon-ready: 7 simple checks before Assam's rains hit your Maruti.

Wipers, tyres, underbody, AC — a quick pre-monsoon checklist our service advisors run every year for Guwahati drivers.

The Assam monsoon doesn't ease in — it arrives. One week your evenings are warm and dry, the next you're driving home through ankle-deep water on GS Road. A short pre-monsoon check goes a long way in keeping your Maruti reliable through the season.

1. Wiper blades

If the rubber smears instead of wiping clean, replace it. Genuine Maruti blades cost less than a tank of petrol and save you a dangerous moment on a flooded flyover.

2. Tyre tread and pressure

Anything under 2mm of tread is risky on wet tarmac. Check pressure cold, weekly — under-inflated tyres aquaplane faster.

3. Underbody and door seals

Assam's water has minerals that accelerate corrosion. An underbody wash and re-sealing of door rubbers before June is cheap insurance.

4. Battery terminals

Humidity oxidises terminals quickly. A quick clean and a coat of petroleum jelly prevents the dreaded 'won't crank' morning.

5. AC and cabin filter

A clogged filter fogs your windows in seconds when it rains. Replace it if it's been more than a year.

6. Headlight alignment

Rain bends light. Misaligned headlights blind oncoming traffic and leave dark patches in front of you. Have us check the beam in five minutes.

7. Brake fluid and pads

Wet brakes work harder. If your pads are below 3mm, change them before the first heavy spell.

Book a pre-monsoon health check at any Bimal Auto service centre — we'll run all seven checks and only flag what genuinely needs attention.
