Hatchback, sedan, SUV or MUV — how to pick the right Maruti for your family.

A no-jargon guide from our showroom team in Guwahati on matching the right body type to how you actually drive.

Most car buyers walk into our showroom with a body type already in mind — usually because a neighbour or a YouTube reviewer recommended it. Sometimes that's right. Often, it isn't. Here's how we'd actually help you decide.

Hatchback — for the daily city driver

If most of your driving is inside Guwahati, school runs, the office, weekend shopping — a Swift, Baleno or Wagon R is hard to beat. Easy to park, light on fuel, cheap to insure. Don't size up just because the budget allows it.

Sedan — for the highway commuter

If you do regular runs to Jorhat, Tezpur or Shillong, a Dzire or Ciaz feels noticeably more planted at highway speeds, and the boot swallows weekend luggage without fuss.

SUV — for varied roads and stance

Bad roads, occasional river-side drives, or simply the feeling of sitting higher — Brezza, Grand Vitara and Jimny each have a clear job. Don't buy the biggest one; buy the one that fits your driveway and parking.

MUV — when the family grows

Ertiga, XL6 and Invicto exist for a reason — when seven people regularly travel together, a stretched SUV is a compromise. An MUV isn't.

The honest rule of thumb

Buy for how you drive 90% of the time, not the 10% trip you take once a year. You'll save money, fuel and the daily annoyance of parking something too big for your lane.
